Message #26 - Arica (Chili)

Ca y est, j ai enfin passe la frontiere…Bienvenue a Arica, petite ville balneaire situee tout au Nord du Chili :

A la base, la ville etant sans grand interet apparent, je n avais prevu d y passer qu une simple journee histoire de me poser un peu apres le Perou, mais au final les circonstances ont fait que j y suis rester 8 jours a faire la fete!!!
En fait, je me suis pose dans une auberge super sympa, dont le patron (Carlos) était incroyablement cool, et j y ai rencontre mon nouveau « Wingman » nomme Billy (U.S.), un mec super cool qui tout comme moi voyage sur une longue periode :

Comme on prenait l apero tranquillou, on a propose a Dries et Christine, un couple de Belges (flammands) de se joindre a nous :

Et puis de fil en aiguille, ce qui devait arriver arriva, on a invite toute l auberge a se joindre a cet apero record qui aura dure de 15h a 02h du mat !!!

Apres les festivites, et comme apres chaque dur combat, il a fallu comptabiliser les pertes materielles et humaines. Bilan : Une victime du cote des troupes, mon « Wingman » Billy

et BIIIIIIIIIP victimes du cote des bouteilles (je suis oblige de censurer ce chiffre si je ne veux pas que mon père vienne me chercher avec un fusil pour me ramener a la maison!!!)

Bon, a part picoler, on a quand meme fait plein de trucs, dont la visite d un superbe parc national dans le Nord-Est du pays. Voici quelques photos pour vous prouver que je ne mens pas !!!
Tout d abord on a rencontre un lama tres curieux (vous aurez sans doute note le volcan de ouuuuuuf dans le fond !!!)

Ce continent etant celui de tous les records, voici en avant premiere le plus haut lac du monde (et le volcan qui lui tient compagnie !):

Pour finir, en bonus, voici la photo de deux types qui etaient avec nous dans le car et qui n ont apparement pas supportes l altitude !!! (Notez la bouteille d oxygene que le type tient avec amour!!!)

Allez, il est temps de partir un peu plus au Sud pour decouvrir le pueblito de San Pedro d Atacama !!!!

Here it is, I have finally crossed the border between Peru and Chile….welcome to the beach city named Arica:

As the city is not the most exciting city on my road, I was only supposed to stay there a day, just for chilling out and fill my batteries up… but at the end, I stayed there a whole week partying!!! What happened is that I settled down in an amazing hostel, with an incredibly cool manager (Carlos), and I met my new wingman, a very cool and funny guy from the U.S. named Billy:

As we were having a drink on the terrace, tranquilooooo, we invited Dries and Christine (a couple from Belgium) over to join us:

And you know how it works, we ended up inviting the whole hostel to join us for a drink !!! Beginning of the drink at 3p.m., end of the drink at 2 a.m. !!!

After the war, we had to look for casualties and make a report: 1 lost, my wingman Billy

And XXXXX bottles of wine (I have to censor the real number if I do not want my dad to come get me with the machinegun!!!)

Anyway, apart from drinking, we also did plenty of things, including a tour in an amazing national parc in the North-East of the country. Here are some few pictures to prove me right:

Okay, let’s go, it is time to hit the road to visit San Pedro de Atacama, a very nice pueblito located 17 hours South East of Arica!!!
