Ahhhh, enfin une capitale !!! Depuis Lima il y a 1,5 mois, l’agitation d’une grande ville commencait a serieusement me manquer :-) La premiere chose que j ai fait ici, c’est acheter le New York Times et Le Monde (bon d’accord, c’était les infos de la semaine derniere…mais quand meme ca fait du bien !!!)

La ville est super agreable et il y a pas mal de coins pleins de charme :

J’ai y retrouve mon wingman Billy et on a passe encore une fois une semaine de folie !!!

Etape 1 : Visite d’un des vignobles les plus reputes du Chili « Concha y Toro »
On a demarre par la degustation officielle,

Puis comme on avait encore bien soif, on a decide d aller faire un tour directement du cote de la cave pour une degustation a notre maniere, mais toujours avec moderation !!!

Etape 2 : Aller se faire un peu de pognon a l’hippodrome !

L’intensite était a son comble, aussi bien sur la piste que dans les entrailles de l’hippodrome :

Au final, on n’a pas vraiment reussi a se renflouer (etonnant… !), mais l’emotion était au rendez-vous !!!

Etape 3 : Festival du vin de Pirque (petite ville a 1h30 de Santiago)
Bon alors la, c était carrement la foire !!! Definitivement dans mon top 5 des meilleurs moments de mon voyage :-) !!! Il n’est pas facile de decrire par des mots l’ambiance qu’il y avait, mais voici un apercu en image juste pour vous donner le ton !!!

Tout d'abord, le festival est installe en campagne, au milieu d un petit bois plein de poussiere, avec des ballots de paille partout…ambiance rodeo garantie !!!

Comme l'experience nous l'a enseigne, il est tres important de se caler l'estomac avant une degustation:

Debut du festival (vers midi), les bouteilles sont pretes a etre debouchees et les participants prets a les vider :

Etape 3: Le plus fou des « rodeos »
Il faut savoir qu’ici (a ma grande surprise) un rodeo ne consiste pas a monter un taureau ou un cheval qui se prend pour un cabris, mais plutot a « smasher » un pauvre petit veau qui n a rien demande contre les barrieres de l arene!!! ...deroutant...

Prochaine etape du periple, Valparaiso et Vina del mar :-)

Feels so gooooooooooooooood to be at last in a capital city!!! Men, the first thing I did was to by the New York Times and Le Monde!!! Okay okay, I know, it was last week news, but still, it felt gooooood!!!

Santiago is a very pleasant city:

I met there my wingman Billy…and of course once again we spent one of the craziest week ever!!!

Step 1: Visit one the most famous vineyards of Chile « Concha y Toro »
We started with the classic wine tasting,

But as we were still very thirsty, we decided it would be much better to do it our way:

Step 2: Try to win some few bucks at the track!

Men, it was incredible, both outside and inside and the building:

At the end of the day, we had still empty pockets but we had a great time!

Step 3 : Wine festival in Pirque (1h30 out of Santiago)
Okay, thaaaat was the craaaaaaziest day ever!!! Probably one of the best of my trip ;-) It is not easy to describe the atmosphere with words, so I’ll try to do it with some few pictures:

First of all, the fest was set up in a peaceful wood with a dusty ground. Then, to stick to the rodeo spirit, they spread some hay everywhere!!! Awesome!!!

Do not forget, always start a wine tasting by a light snack ;-)

From the very beginning of the fest, bottles were ready to be emptied and people were ready to empty them….perfect harmony!!!

Finally my friends, and especially my "U.S. friends", here is the most….disturbing….rodeo ever!!! Indeed, the goal of THIS rodeo is, instead of rinding a crazy bull/horse, to smash a poor small calf against the corral barriers with two horses…!!! Try to propose this in Texas next time you get there and tell me what they say ;-) !!!
